Ways to reuse greeting cards

Receiving a greeting card, regardless of the occasion, can brighten someone’s day. If you like to save personal items, you might have a drawer full of various cards. Don’t let all that sentiment go to waste. Here are some ways you can reuse that old stationary:

Put your favorites on display
Greeting cards can embody beautiful designs or motivational quotes. If you really like the style of one you received, try framing it. This can add that extra something to a dresser or end table. However, don’t forget about the inside of the card either. If someone wrote text you adore, frame that as well. By re-purposing your cards, the messages won’t be gathering dust in a drawer, and it’ll add a personal touch to your decor.

Create Christmas card tree
Do you have old Christmas cards you can’t bring yourself to toss? When the holiday season comes around, make them into ornaments that you can hang. It will add a unique element to your holiday decorations.

Another option is to create your own do-it-yourself Christmas card tree. To build one, just cut out the patterned side of holiday cards into a shape of your choosing. Then, use a kebab stick and glue to hold them all together. This makes a cute, mini tree that you can use as a centerpiece.

Make a collage
Collages are a creative way to put memories together. They can include old pictures, memorabilia and even greeting cards. These would be great for remembering important life events such as a wedding or a first birthday.

Donate them
You may think that once cards are used, they can no longer be donated, but this is far from the truth. You can donate your old cards to St. Jude’s Ranch. They recycle the cards and create new holiday and all-occasion greeting cards. Then, they are sold to support their programs and services for people in need.
