6 unique reasons to send a card

People love to receive greeting cards. With so much of our world online, sometimes there’s nothing better than a physical letter or card. Sure, there are the traditional reasons to send one, such as a wedding, birthday or a baby shower, but there are many other opportunities for mailing cards as well:

Half birthday
You definitely include a greeting card when it’s a friend’s birthday, but what about half birthdays? This is a fun and quirky way to remind someone to do a little celebrating by sending them a card. They might not even know it until you point it out. It’ll be sure to make them smile.

Thinking of you
Maybe you’ve gotten a text or email from someone saying that they’re thinking about you. If so, you know how great it feels. Try upping the ante by sending your friend a just thinking of you card. The sentiment will definitely brighten anyone’s day.

The death of a pet
Grieving is not easy, regardless of the situation. Pets are often considered a part of the family, so when one passes away, it’s never easy. Send someone mourning the loss of their pet a card to show them support during this tough time.

Anniversary of a death
After someone dies, usually there is an outpour of support. However, after time passes, people often forget about a death even though the bereaved person is still in pain. Send your loved one a thoughtful card on the anniversary of someone’s death to remind him or her that you haven’t forgotten. He or she will really appreciate the support, and it will show them how much you care.

End of finals and school
Any student knows that there is nothing more difficult than getting through the last leg of the school year. After days and night of studying for exams and writing papers, summer eventually arrives. Let your favorite student know that you’re proud of him or her by sending them a quick “congrats for making it through” card.

Welcoming new neighbors
Nothing says welcome to the neighborhood more than a greeting card. Next time you have people move in down the block, mail them a greeting card. They’ll be excited to meet people in their new neighborhood. In addition, it may be the first time someone sends them a letter to their new address.
