In today’s world, email is the way most companies communicate. We use the Internet to talk to clients, customers, venders, associates and staff members. Everything from newsletters, promotional materials, announcements and more is all typed up and sent through a myriad of email servers. That’s an awful lot of mail to receive in one day. Many people find the plethora of unopened items in their mailbox causes anxiety, and they don’t know how to properly handle it to make their life less stressful. A useful method of dealing with email is to use apps created specifically to make emailing easier and more efficient. Here are a few to try:

Boxer
Most people have several email apps to keep track of their business and personal communications. With Boxer, you can siphon all your emails to one place so you don’t miss anything. This app is super helpful for people who like to-do lists. Instead of reading an email briefly, realizing you need to act on it later, and marking it as “unread” so you remember to return to it, you can give each email a due date and Boxer will remind you. With one swipe and a tap you can move any correspondence to your to-do list, taking away your worry that you might forget an email in your inbox. One reviewer even referred to this app as “the Italian sports car of email apps.” Others claim it rarely, if ever, crashes, and is super fast, which is great for those who are trying to keep up with business while on the go. You can download this app for iPhone or Android products. The lite version is free, but for more deluxe features, the full version is $4.99.

AquaMail
Time Magazine recommends this app, which is super customizable. If you get tons of emails and find it difficult to locate what you’re looking for, this may be the app for you. It allows users to change the color scheme and view their inbox many ways, such as by date, by importance or star level, and even by sender. This makes searching for a specific correspondence much easier. You can even look for emails that have attachments while cruising past those that aren’t what you’re trying to find. Alerts are also customizable – you can choose to turn them off at night so your phone or tablet doesn’t light up, make noise or vibrate. You can purchase AquaMail via Google Play – there is both a free and paid version, depending on whether you’re OK with a quick line about your mail being sent with the app (via the free one). Plus, the paid version allows you to connect with more than two email accounts. Did someone say multitask?

Hop
Want your email to be more like social media? Hop turns each conversation into a chat, allowing users to easily browse all communications, including photos, attachments and emails in one feed. The interface makes it seem like you’re not even working. As far as professional advice goes, anything that makes work seem less menial is worth a try! Those who are especially social media savvy will dig this app, as it’s more like scrolling through your Facebook chat windows than writing boring emails. But it’s still totally professional, and your email recipients will see what you send as a regular email. One reviewer wrote that Hop is great for real-time communication because of the casual, immediate chat-like format. No more wishing all your clients had Gchat, just use Hop!
