As cheerful and festive as the holiday season can be, it also tends to get a little chaotic. After all, you want to make sure all your happy holiday cards and gifts arrive in the mail on time. Thank goodness for the U.S. Postal Service, because they're working extra hard this year to ensure that our greeting cards and presents arrive to our friends and loved ones on schedule.
Seven-day delivery will run from Nov. 17 to Dec. 25 in response to the growing demand of sending packages and cards. According to The Associated Press, there is expected to be an increased number of items sent this holiday season. In fact, they're expecting 12 percent growth from 2013, or about 450 to 470 million packages. Suddenly, the USPS sound less like mailmen and more like Santa Claus. All they need is a sleigh.
The USPS will be shipping and delivering packages on Sundays in most major cities to ensure that everyone's cards and holiday gifts arrive just in time for Christmas. You could send out your package on Dec. 23 using domestic express priority mail and it would reach your loved one right on schedule.
