Step up your online presence with these five tips

Navigating a business can be tricky at the best of times, whether it’s selecting the perfect stationary but publicizing it online shouldn’t be. You may be familiar with the struggle to keep up with the latest in information and internet memes. Here are five great ways to improve your online presence:

1. Stay on top of trending topics

Keep an eye out for what is being discussed heavily on social media and the news, and post relevant updates. Try setting up Google alerts for relevant terms related to your industry. That way, you can post new content while it’s still likely to generate a buzz.

2. Update pages regularly

If you have a company website, be sure that it looks professional and is being updated with new content at least once a week. Have a calendar for your business, and mark days where posts go out so that you can promote them The same thing goes for social media accounts; new information should be posted on a daily basis. If that’s too much to handle, see if you can schedule new posts to go out. Some sites, such as Tumblr and WordPress,  let users save drafts and then post them on your behalf at a specified time. This way, you can keep things up to date even if your office is inundated with work.

3. Guest post to expand your audience

If you are looking to attract new members to your site, then consider guest blogging for an established webpage or periodical. It can help you earn credibility and drive users to your posts and social media. If the opportunity for a great guest post does arise, apply your expertise wisely and users are sure to follow.

4. Socialize

A great way to draw users in is to interact with them online. Respond to new connections on LinkedIn and Facebook, thank new followers for their interest and be sure to promptly answer any questions you receive. Showing that you are active on social media will engage your followers and help you acquire more.
5. Make It easy to share content
Internet users like convenience, so make your content easy to share. If it is not easy to share your content, then quite simply content won’t be shared. Add plugins to your websites for share icons that make it easy to post items directly to social-media sites. That way, all a user has to do is hit one button to share your latest news.
